Since the 6th grade I’ve known I was different—the girls teased me and the boys ogled me—I had huge breasts. Now while others like Pamela Anderson are surgically opting for more, I’ve always been looking for a way to make mine smaller. If they ever figure out how to transplant breast material from one to another, I’ll be first in line as a donor.

What’s this got to do with shopping at Bare Necessities? A lot! Buying DD bras isn’t easy—finding one that supports without looking like an armor breast plate isn’t simple. When I found out that the one style that provided support, looked sexy, and fit fabulously was no longer available at JC Penney I started to panic. After trying several other minimizing bras I decided that I needed to find the one I was comfortable with already, so I set off on and Internet search for the style I loved.

I chose Bare Necessities out of the few shops that sell them because they offered discounted shipping (a coupon gleaned from another site) and had the items in stock. I wanted them fast as I was leaving on vacation and wanted to be sure I had them before I left. The price was comparable to JC Penney but they had two color choices – JC Penney had only offered them in white.

The Site
Soothing colors of blue and green greet you as you enter their main page. Logically laid out and in categories which make sense, it’s easy to find what you need. A great feature is the “browse by bra size” search. Since I wear a very unusual size, it was great seeing just the bras they offered in my size and that were in stock. This saved literally tons of time looking at ones I wouldn’t be able to purchase.

They offer a variety of bras, panties, sleepwear, hosiery, shapewear, camisoles, t-shirts, and have included men’s underwear and t-shirts as well.

Ordering
After locating the style I wanted I chose the size and color—actually I bought two of the same in two different colors—something I’ve never been able to do before! Once added to my cart the check out process proceeded normally—registration, credit card, shipping method, etc. I received an immediate confirmation that the items would be on their way by the agreed upon shipping method.

Shipping
Super-fast! I ordered on 3/13 and they shipped on 3/14! I've run across many retailers that are waiting 2-3 days to ship so this was a great find!

They offered UPS Ground (starting at $4.95), UPS 3-day Select (starting at $9), UPS 2nd Day (starting at $12), and UPS Next Day (starting at $22). The final rate is determined by the weight and/or distance of the shipping. I paid $10.58 for 3-day select which I didn’t mind because I had a coupon and I wanted it faster. I would have paid $5 for UPS ground. Keep in mind, UPS does not deliver on weekends when you’re deciding on the best shipping method for you. They currently ship to the US, Canada, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, APOs and FPOs.

Tracking
I was mailed a tracking number with my confirmation. It linked directly to the UPS site and directly to my package. No fumbling around to find the order number.

Guarantee
If you are unhappy for any reason they will refund your purchase price. Shipping is refunded only if the item was defective or they shipped the wrong item. Returns for any other reasons are paid for by the buyer—typical stuff. Returns must have all original tags attached.

Final Thoughts
I wouldn’t buy a bra without trying it on, so Bare Necessities wouldn’t work for me, however, that said, most women don’t fall into my category and can buy “off the rack”. I would use them again for a specific style that I’d tried on locally or for other intimates that aren’t as fit-conscience as a bra. They offer a huge selection of styles and sizing and I love the shop by bra size feature.

My items arrived in the promised time, were packaged perfectly, brand-new 1st quality items—I couldn’t be happier! As my order was perfect I didn't need to use their customer service--therefore I rated it a 4. I assume it's as great as the rest of my experience.
